Reproduction
National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) collects data on
deliveries and births (since 1987), small premature infants (since
2004), congenital malformations (since 1963), induced abortions
(since 1950), sterilisations (since 1939) and assisted reproduction
(since 1992).
The data are mostly received from hospitals and clinics, being
partly complemented with data from Statistics Finland and the
Population Register Centre.
