Statistical Yearbook on Social Welfare and Health
Care
The Statistical Yearbook on Social Welfare and Health Care
provides the most important statistical information about welfare
and health and the system of social and health services in Finland.
The Statistical Yearbook has been published since the year 2000 and
has been developed with the help of reader response. The latest
reader response survey was conducted in early 2011.
The Statistical Yearbook contains the key statistical data on
social welfare and health care, grouped according to themes. The
data are presented in the form of time series, with the data on the
last year in the times series classified according to region or
hospital district. The section 'Indicators for monitoring the field
of social welfare and health' at the end of the Statistical
Yearbook facilitates monitoring of national programmes in the
social welfare and health care sector.
In the 2010 edition, the content of the Statistical Yearbook has
been expanded to cover data on health behaviour and health among
the adult population and on public opinion on social protection in
Finland from the surveys regularly carried out by the National
Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). The Statistical Yearbook
also contains new data from the National Infectious Diseases
Register.
The yearbook is a handbook suitable for day-to-day use in
administration, development work and research in the field.
The site Publication
calender (in finnish and in swedish) shows the publication
dates for all statistical reports and comprehensive statistical
publications maintained by the National Institute for Health and
Welfare (THL).
The Statistical Yearbook on Social Welfare and Health Care 2010
is published both online and in printed form.
