TERVE-SOS 2008 in Jyväskylä 21 to 22 May 2008:
TERVE-SOS 2008 visualises the future of social and health services
TERVE-SOS is a training and exhibition event organised annually in Finland in the social and health sector. Organised by STAKES and the City of Jyväskylä, the 2008 event will take place in Jyväskylä Paviljonki 21 to 22 May with the theme "Shared Responsibility – Changing Structures". Professionals, voluntary sector activists, researchers, developers and policy-makers will come together to exchange views and update their knowledge. The media are also warmly invited to attend. The training event offers numerous seminars that deal with the different aspects of the on-going national project to restructure local government and services. Topics under discussion include responsibility, co-operation between social and health care, child policy, and health promotion, today and in the future. The first day offers an opportunity to give Paula Risikko, Minister of Health and Social Services, a briefing on current issues and listen to answers given by the Minister during an hour of questions. The day ends with an evening reception organised by the City of Jyväskylä. The second day's seminars examine future visions, which are presented among others by Kari Välimäki, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and Matti Heikkilä, Director General of STAKES.
TERVE-SOS also involves a professional exhibition in social and health care with more than 100 exhibitors, including major organisations, associations and enterprises in the field. In addition, the exhibition includes expert presentations, theatre and other interesting activities.
